Indonesia’s most active volcano erupts

Indonesia’s Mount Merali erupted Wednesday, forcing more than 150 people, mostly elderly, living within five kilometres of the crater to flee. It was Merapi’s biggest lava flow since authorities raised its danger level in November. The volcano is on the densely populated island of Java.

Mount Merali’s last major eruption in 2010 killed 347 people
